New York City

Part of my Christmas gift this year was a day in the City with Joe. We haven't had many date nights since Erin arrived, so it was a perfect opportunity to spend some quality time with one another. We didn't have much of a plan, just Joe and I and NYC!

Joe's mom came over bright and early to watch Erin and we set out for the day. It was supposed to be a chilly day, but not too cold which was perfect. We arrived about 10AM and headed to our favorite store: FAO Schwartz. Joe and I could spend all day there and at least now we have a good reason to go. May sound crazy, but we usually go to pick up a toy for the other lady in our lives: Abbie. They have such wonderfully made toys that last forever, so it's worth it to spend a few extra dollars on a nice stuffed animal that is going to last a while for Abbie.

Of course we picked up toys for both ladies. And as we were checking out, I found the most amazing Christmas ornament. The last time Joe and I were in the city, we went to see "Mary Poppins" on Broadway. They had a display of Mary Poppins memorabilia for sale and they had Mary Poppin's Umbrella as a Christmas ornament. What a great sentimental ornament to add to our collection!

After our trip to the toy store, we had lunch reservations at one of the top burger joints in NYC: HB Burger. Joe had been doing some research trying to find a great microbrew and burger joint and came across this restaurant. Let me just say that we had the best Kobe Beef Burgers and microbrews we have ever had. It will most likely be a staple restaurant during future visits. We had a few drinks and then headed back out to do some After Christmas Shopping!

Of course, I have the best husband in the world and we did some shopping at J Crew and Brooks Brothers. And most importantly made a stop by the Christmas tree to snag a photo!

It was a great day to be "husband and wife!" We were happy to head home to see our little ladies! Until Next time....

She Must Have Been a Good Girl This Year

After everyone left, we had decided to put all of the gifts downstairs until I could sort and put everything away. Our upstairs looked like a tornado had hit it. I have to say - this girl has it made! She is one special little lady! Thank you everyone for being so generous!

Christmas 2011

Christmas sure was a busy weekend. With only a few days, we had a lot to fit in. Joe and I were pretty darn excited about this being our first Christmas as parents, even though Erin had no idea what was going on! My parents and brother made the trip in. And we had plans with Joe's family throughout the weekend as well. Of course, Erin came down with a cold on Friday (fevers all day) and was teething on top of it. She was not in the mood for anyone or anything all weekend, but we tried to make the most of it.

Don't let her face fool you, she liked spending some time with her Uncle Tommy
On Christmas day, we had lots of visitors over. My family was still in and most of Joe's family came over to spend some time with the little lady on her big day! She sure is blessed with a lot of people who love her and care for her. Erin is one lucky little gal! Thank you to all of our family who made her 1st Christmas extra special!

New Developments

I didn't post last week, but we have had some latest developments with our ever growing daughter. Last week, Erin rolled over for the first time. As I was working on my computer, Erin had been playing on her activity mat. I looked down and to my astonishment - she was on her stomach! Now, as you can imagine, she is a rolling machine!

Today, when I picked Erin up from Daycare, they informed me that Erin had a surprise for me. They asked me if I had found anything "new" on her. Not knowing what that meant and not thinking that I had seen anything differently lately, I asked her to tell me what she meant. She didn't want to tell me, but I told her it was okay. Erin had finally popped a tooth!!! No wonder she has been biting on everything in sight! We have been waiting for this day for WEEKS!!! Miss Emely, her teacher, felt bad that I had not found it first, but I told her as long as it wasn't crawling or walking - she could tell me when she found a tooth :)

Way to go girlie!! Two milestones in a week!!

5 Months Old

Life is busy for this little one! As you can tell, Erin is definitely a lot more active these days. Pictures are getting harder and harder to take! She doesn't want to sit still at all!!

We are increasing our palate on a weekly basis! Erin now has cereal, peaches, pears, apples and sweet potatoes. Squash and carrots are next on the list. I know I definitely started her at the right time as she is a trooper when it comes to food! She LOVES to eat her cereal with fruits and veggies. She definitely takes after her father and mother with her love of food!

I can't believe by the time she is six months old, we will have had Thanksgiving and now Christmas. We are really looking forward to this month and spending the holiday with our child. Such an exciting difference in holidays this year!

Erin's Baptism

I couldn't have asked for a more special and beautiful weekend to have Erin's Baptism. We had friends from out of state and family that shared in her special day. AND it turned out to be a gorgeous weekend! Honestly - such an amazing day in November.

The weekend was even better because we had our friends Adam and Lindsey Miller in for the weekend. Adam is Erin's Godfather. Joe has been friends with Adam since our days with Newell (they met over 6 years ago!) They are the amazing couple that we went to Michigan back in August to attend their wedding. They are such a fun and loving couple and we had such a great time with them. If only we lived closer so we could spend more time with them!

We were also very fortunate to have Cristin as Erin's Godmother. Ever since I got pregnant, Cristin has been very involved with my pregnancy and she has spoiled Erin rotten with beautiful and unique gifts. Thank you Cristin and Adam for now being a bigger part of Erin's life!

The ceremony was small and private officiated by Joe's cousin Jeff. He did such an amazing and beautiful job. It made the day so much more meaningful and special! Thank you Jeff for making Erin's day wonderful!

We had a little fussiness during the ceremony. Even though I made sure she ate during church - she decided she was going to have a little bit of an attitude during the baptism. Of course, it will make for special memories, but such a drama queen already. Here are a few pictures of her day!

4 Months Old

Four months. Sheesh!

We unfortunately have had a rough last week. Erin has a form of Bronchitis calls Bronchiolitis. It's in her little airways and she can't breath at night so they put her on a nebulizer to try to break up the mucus in her lungs. It's so sad to see such a little thing so pitiful and vulnerable. THankfully we had a follow up at her 4 month appointment and it seemed to have worked. So we are off the nebulizer, but we still have to deal with all of the cold stuff in her head now. Darn Daycare.

Halloween

Our little cupcake

Erin's daycare celebrates Halloween with a small parade for all of the parents with their chidlren all dressed up. Joe and I arrived to Miss Erin swinging in her swing.

THis little boy, Easton, had a fascination with pushing Erin in her swing. THey have pictures of him pushing her every day.

Doesn't she look like she is having a blast.

After the parade, we headed back to Kraft where the kids were allowed to come and trick or treat for a the last two hours of the day. All of the different "groups" decorated their cubicle areas and then handed out candy to all of the little kids as they made their rounds. It was a fun day for all of us!

Dreaming of a White Halloween?

Yes folks - that there is a whole foot+ of snow on October 29, 2011. Seriously? Poor kids who have to go trick or treating in snow! Ugh! Let's pray this weather clears up and this snow goes away quickly and stays away!

Halloween Outfit #2

Thanks Aunt Marion for the adorable Halloween outfit! This little outfit has a little tail in the back too! I dressed her this way for Daycare and she passed out before I could get a picture taken of her! I didn't want to wait until after Daycare because she normally doesn't come home in the outfit I send her in!

Circus! Circus!

I've said it before, but Joe and I definitely are still secretly children at heart. The Ringling Bros circus comes to Wilkes-Barre at least once a year and Joe and I never miss a show. Just something about "oohing" and "aahing" at the amazing acts and animals and eating a giant stick of cotton candy should make anyone smile.

This year was no different, even if we have a 4 months old child who doesn't have a clue what's going on! We saddled up the diaper bag and made our way to the 4th row and watched the most amazing show on earth. Even Erin enjoyed herself - she couldn't take her eyes off of the ring - even to eat a bottle.

Yes - you are seeing this correctly! There are camels in the horse show!

The show was way more interesting than food
